Our Team Brenda Rossman, Christine Jackson and Susan Boren founded Canopy in 2006. Because the energetic trio had spent the previous eight years as high-achieving colleagues at prominent Seattle-area printing companies, Canopy’s success was a sure bet from the start. Building on the leadership team’s 50 years of combined industry experience, the youthful company has quickly garnered a fast-growing client list and a tall stack of customer accolades. Becky Holcomb came aboard as Brenda's business partner in 2008.

We invite you to put Canopy’s expertise to work for you.

BRENDA ROSSMAN, Canopy Partner

Brenda Rossman was born into the printing business: Her parents, Barb and Randy Coplen, founded Printing Control Services in Tukwila, Washington. She built her industry knowledge at a New York advertising agency and honed her print rep skills at Printing Control and three other printing companies. Launching Canopy provided Brenda with the perfect marriage of her industry experience and the Business and Marketing degree she earned at the University of Puget Sound.

Brenda specializes in building Canopy into a thriving enterprise, providing client service and managing projects. In the ongoing quest for vendors to fill every client need, she and Christine screen a prospective Canopy vendor nearly every week.

In her spare time, Brenda enjoys geocaching and travel. She’s also a great hostess, wine connoisseur and coffee fanatic. And no, her blood type isn’t really PMS 185 Positive from being in the printing business for so long.

You can read her blog here.

BECKY HOLCOMB, Canopy Partner

Becky Holcomb aced the printing industry crash course, starting as a Princeton Press prepress artist in 1996, and then mastering every aspect of the business before buying Princeton in 2003. Becky earned a BFA from Eastern Washington University and has prior experience in banking.

Inspired by Brenda's vision for Canopy, Becky offered Canopy early support and encouragement. As the energetic young company grew, Brenda and Becky's relationship also evolved, and in 2008 Becky invested in Canopy as Brenda's business partner. Her first project is implementing operational systems to support Canopy's amazingly rapid growth. Becky says she has known for years that she and Brenda would make a great team someday. Now, given their compatible and complementary skills and leadership abilities, she is confident that the two partners and their talented staff are poised to take Canopy to the next level.

When you stop by the Canopy office, you may meet Becky's three big, sweet dogs, who she idolizes. At home she and her husband Mark are avid gardeners, dog walkers and home projects fans. Committed to sustainability, Becky reuses and recycles everything she can.

CHRISTINE JACKSON, Business Development

Christine Jackson developed her printing industry passion at Printing Control, first as a press operator, then as a print rep. Prior to Canopy’s launch, Christine and Brenda became known for their distinctive team approach to delivering print services as sales reps for a large Northwest printer.

As Canopy’s lead business developer, Christine identifies and meets with prospective clients. Like Brenda, she also provides client service and project management in the field. With her great eye for design, Christine loves collaborating with designers and other creative pros. Back at Canopy, she uses her extensive press knowledge to analyze client projects and pinpoint money-saving efficiencies.

Christine is president of Art with Heart, a non-profit organization that empowers youth in crisis through therapeutic books and programs that foster self-expression. She enjoys listening to audio books on her long daily commutes, and says it’s magical that her family shares the yard of their rural woodland home with bear, deer and elk.

SUSAN BOREN, Director of Operations

Susan Boren has the printing industry in her genes, too. She’s the daughter of Sam Boren, a Seattle paper industry legend who is still going strong as a salesman for West Coast Paper. In the course of her print-related career, Susan has worked at three of the area’s leading printers, where she established her reputation for legendary customer service. Susan earned a Communications degree from Washington State University.

It’s Susan’s voice you’ll hear whenever you call Canopy, where she keeps her finger on the pulse of everything that’s happening with your projects. Susan also provides many key business management services, including writing concise print specifications, soliciting estimates and overseeing accounting.

Because of her love of hot, sunny weather, Susan often dreams up travels to more tropical climates. When she’s not figuring out ways to soak up more sun, she has fun cheering on the Cougars and sharing dinners with friends, especially when she’s not doing the cooking.

JANET TUPPER, Account Executive

The daughter of a creative marketing entrepreneur, Janet Tupper was raised on graphics, colors and typefaces. No wonder she was first drawn to the publishing world, then to the promotional products industry. Janet brings to Canopy her experience in sales, marketing, strategy, brand identity, product development and packaging design. She hails from Missouri and is a University of Missouri School of Journalism grad.

Janet introduces new customers to Canopy’s extraordinary print production capabilities and provides the team with product ideas and domestic and overseas sourcing expertise. With her distinctive design eye and marketing savvy, Janet skillfully collaborates with designers and marketers to produce smart, stylish corporate gifts and premiums.

When she's not inventing the next must-have giveaway, Janet turns her boundless energy to fitness, tennis and hosting memorable dinners. A Seattle resident since 1996, Janet adores Northwest destinations, wines and cuisine and enjoys exploring the Seattle jazz scene. She is devoted to her daughter and draws inspiration from motivational writers and speakers.
